Privacy Policy

Under Data Protection legislation the church Charity Trustees of Llanishen Baptist Church are the Data Controller and can be contacted by emailing deacons@llanishenbaptist.org.uk
We collect personal information of our fellowship, suppliers and hall hirers to enable the church to keep in touch, and to provide pastoral support as appropriate. Data Protection legislation allows us to process this information as we regard it as being in the church’s legitimate interest.

Members and friends of LBC

Your name and contact details will be entered into our church database which is held on the church office computer which is password protected and accessed only by two church trustees (deacons) and the Church Secretary, and will also be available to the Minister of LBC when appointed. We will ask you to refresh your consent to hold these details every two years. If we do not receive your consent, we will remove your details from the database. 
To enable us to provide adequate pastoral support to you and your family, one of the Ministers/pastoral team may record information which may be regarded as sensitive. This information will be stored (in password protected documents) on the church computer but the password will only be known by the Ministers/pastoral team. This information will NOT be disclosed to anyone else without your consent.
You have the right to ask to see any information we hold about you (including the pastoral support information) by submitting a ‘Subject Access Request’ to the Church Secretary. You also have the right to ask for information which you believe to be incorrect to be rectified.

Suppliers

If you provide services to Llanishen Baptist Church we will retain your name/business name and contact details for the purposes of contacting you, and your bank details so that we can pay you.

Hall hirers

If you hire our hall, we will request and keep your name, address, email address and telephone number for the purpose of keeping in touch, dealing with enquiries and invoicing. We will keep these details for no longer than one year after your last hall hire.

Safeguarding

If you act in a volunteer capacity for the church, we will arrange safeguarding training for you and share your name with the South Wales Baptist Association for this purpose.
